D Gukesh Surpassing Viswanathan Anand and become India's No. 1

In the match between Grand master  Misratdin Iskandarov and Grand Master Gukesh in the FIDE world cup 2023, D. Gukesh won consecutive match against GM Misratdin Iskandarov and achieve the tittle of India's number 1 chess player and world's number 9 Chess Player. Also D. Gukesh surpasses his mentor the legendary Viswanathan Anand who is the five time world champion. 


Viswanathan Anand is 36 years old and five time world champion, he also elected for the deputy for the FIDE(The International Chess Federation). He was awarded by India's highest sporting honor, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and Padma Vibhushan and he become the first Indian sportsperson receive the award. 

Dommaraju Gukesh known as D. Gukesh become the third youngest person in the history of chess to qualify for the tittle of Grand Master. Gukesh won 5 gold medals in the Asian youth chess championship. He is special child Achieving these tittle at a very young age make him special.
